Most vintage dress watches for men are around 33-35 mm across, but this Swiss beauty from the 1950's is a full 37 mm wide, not including the winding crown. Those extra 3-4 mm make all the difference for the modern man, especially for those of us with wider wrists.
Eberhard & Co is a lesser known brand of quality Swiss watches compared to the obvious players such as Rolex, Omega and IWC, but it has been around since the 19th century and still today produce very high-end luxury wristwatches.
The heritage, looks, and finish of this unusually sophisticated choice of dress watch radiate pure elegance, pure class.
Refurbished to its original crispness, the case, the spotless ivory dial with roman numerals, the doomed crystal, and the handsomely long hands are all perfect. The lugs protrude in a pleasantly curved manner from the case and embrace the strap with elegant confidence.
The watch is fitted on a very rich tan/light brown genuine lizard skin strap which perfectly complements the dial and hands. The hands look almost black but actually have a very slight blue tone to them, only visible as a quick blue flash of reflection when the lights hit them at the right angle. Allogether, an absolutely stunning watch.
