Le Gant was the brand name of watches of the Montgomery Ward Company in the United States in the 1970's. Earlier Le Gant watches had Swiss movements and the later ones had Japanese movements mady by Hamazawa-Seiko. This watch has a high quality manual wind UT32 movement from Seiko's Universal Time Corporation.
This watch is incredibly well-preserved - it still has the plastic peel away film on the case back and the beautiful colours of the dial, hands and hour markers are very deep and show no visible signs of ageing even after four decades! The brushed case front contrasts nicely against the polished sides and the edge between the brushed and polished surfaces is very crisp - a result of quality machining. Overall the case and crystal are in excellent condition.
The well proportioned 39mm case is fitted on a matching brand new crocodile embossed genuine leather strap with a deployant clasp, giving an overall very jazzy and bold look. A fun watch to wear and a splash of colours for Casual Friday.
