Have you ever heard of HMT watches? Well, if you are not among the billion people who grew up in India you may not have.
You know, India, the second most populated country in the world, the location that was home to the oldest civilisation known to man, the place you only faintly know about because of yoga and daily grande, skim, extra foam, triple pump Chai latte.
HMT stands for Hindustan Machine Tools and was the offical watch brand of the land of Bollywood until it was discontinued in 2014. In 1961, under the direction of India's prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, the stated owned tractor, machinery, and printer manufacturer decided to diversify into wrist watches. The company continued to produce watches for over 50 years. They got their start with the help of the Citizen watch group and they are actually not that bad.
This watch looks like a military watch but it's probably not. The dial has been professionally refurbished. Fitted on a NATO type strap, made in India.
This is a vintage watch and while it has passed our testing and does keep time and has a good power reserve, it must be taken into account that it is a vintage watch and its performance is not to be compared to modern quartz watches.
This watch comes with a high-quality practical travel case, certificate of "authenticity" because honestly we don't know, and one year warranty from Arlington Watches.
