The NATO strap has its origins in the military, but not from the namesake defence alliance. It was the British Military of Defence who first issued a strap like this in 1973 and it was then called “Strap, Wrist Watch”. For soldiers to get hold of one they had to fill out a form that was called G10. Therefore NATO straps sometimes are more correctly referred to as G10 straps.
Back then the only avialable colour was Admiralty Grey, but today we have plenty of options to choose from. NATO straps have become a bit of a cult lately. They are inexpensive and practical. They are also a lot of fun because it's a sporty casual look and we can play with them. Oftentimes, it is the most unlikely watch/strap combinations that turn out to be the best!
The Arlington Watches NATO straps are brand new, of one-piece design, which easily slips on and off your watch and holds it securely in place, even in case of unilateral spring bar failure.
They are made out of premium nylon weave with welded edges and polished stainless steel hardware.
